Shawarmaji is a shawarma and falafel restaurant in Oakland, California. Chef Mohammad Abutaha moved from Amman, Jordan to the San Francisco Bay area, where he couldn’t find the flavors from home, so he started a pop-up to satisfy his cravings and introduce Jordan-style street food to others. Shawarmaji’s menu is short and simple, which is best for the small operation.
This site focuses heavily on the business' branding elements and colors. Every letter is lowercase, every corner is a sharp 90 degree angle with no rounding, and all buttons and forms are designed with the brand's tan background color and a dark and heavy maroon border. A checkered pattern that is used to wrap menu items accents various sections, further reinforcing the brand and alluding to the products. Attention to detail during the build and the client's review made for a cohesive, satisfying, and well-branded site that users love to visit.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, 54.4% of global website traffic came from mobile users. With more than half of users viewing websites on their phones or tablets, responsive design is very important. Every element needs to look and work beautifully on any device.
