My background is in chemistry, and I worked in a lab before becoming a designer, and I loved taking smoothie breaks with my friends on campus. I incorporated that love for science and the necessity of brain food into a logo for the Daily Logo Challenge. The prompt was - Day 4: Single Letter Logo.
Potassium, atomic number 19, is represented by a K on the periodic table, which is the design of this logo. The banana and its peel make the shape of a capital K. Bananas are high in potassium and a common healthy snack and smoothie ingredient. The fictional business behind this logo would be a healthy smoothie shop opened in 2019, so this is a great representative symbol. Interestingly, I’m actually allergic to bananas!
Typically, healthy brands use greens and browns, but this brand was designed to stand out with calm, pastel shades of yellow, rounded edges, and a clean, simple black accent with fonts and outlines.
Water bottles and hoodies were designed as merchandise and employee attire for this concept brand.

Merchandise can be an extremely effective method of advertisement and additional profit, so it's important to consider when designing a brand. T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, water bottles, and packaging are a fun way to explore a brand's aesthetic and reach its target customers. These items have been designed with consideration for brand awareness and current trends in mind.
